Title II Formula Grants
The Title II Formula Grants Program, administered by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), provides funding for state and local efforts to prevent juvenile delinquency; support the well-being of youth involved, or at risk of being involved, in the juvenile justice system; develop and sustain state level juvenile justice reform to improve positive youth outcomes; work to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in the juvenile justice system; and ensure compliance with the requirements of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDP Act).
The Youth Justice Advisory Council (YJC), Montana’s State Advisory Group, has identified the following purpose areas as funding priorities: Alternatives to Detention; Community-Based Programs/Services; Delinquency Prevention; Mental Health Services; Mentoring, Counseling, and Training Programs; School Programs; Substance/Alcohol Abuse; Gender-Specific Services; Racial and Ethnic Disparities (RED); Diversion Programs; Indian Tribe Programs; and Juvenile Justice System Improvement.
