DMC/JDAI Site Reports
The Office of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) developed a tool called the Relative Rate Index (RRI) to identify and monitor DMC at nine contact points in the juvenile justice system. An RRI value of 1 means that there is no disproportionality at the contact point. An RRI value greater than 1 means that minorities are overrepresented at that contact point. An RRI value that is less than 1 means that minorities are underrepresented at that point in the juvenile justice system. Annually, the MBCC updates an RRI for the state of Montana and each DMC/JDAI site within the state.
