Montana Crime Prevention and Crime Data Information
To use the below map, click on the county you would like to learn more information about. Through the pop-up that appears, you will be able to access both county crime statistics as well as county crime prevention information. The county-specific information will appear in a pop-up window.
The Montana Board of Crime Control (MBCC) contacted county and city officials, police chiefs, sheriffs, coalition leaders, tribal leaders, and citizens at large who may have a vested interest in crime prevention and public safety across the state to develop a report on current crime prevention initiatives and needs within Montana communities. Common crime prevention programs in the state include, but are not limited to:
- Afterschool Programs
- Celebrate Safe Communities
- Community Policing
- Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)
- Crime Stoppers
- Highway Watch
- ID Theft Awareness Programs
- McGruff Programs
- National Night Out
- Neighborhood Watch
- Substance Abuse Prevention Campaigns
- Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS)
We also included a link to a brief feedback questionnaire regarding the Interactive Crime Prevention and Data Map. Please take the time to fill this out so that we may offer the people of Montana the best possible product.
