                            Juvenile Justice Title II Formula Grants                           

 

The Title II Formula Grants Program, administered by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), provides funding for state and local efforts to prevent juvenile delinquency; support the well-being of youth involved, or at risk of being involved, in the juvenile justice system; develop and sustain state level juvenile justice reform to improve positive youth outcomes; work to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in the juvenile justice system; and ensure compliance with the requirements of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDP Act).

The Youth Justice Advisory Council (YJC), Montana’s State Advisory Group, has identified the following purpose areas as funding priorities: Alternatives to Detention; Delinquency Prevention; Diversion Programs; School Programs; Juvenile Justice System Improvement; Disproportionate Minority Contact; Gender-Specific Services; Indian Tribe Programs; and Rural Area Juvenile Programs.
