Mikie Baker-Hajek

A Montana native, Mikie Baker-Hajek has been the Executive Director of the Victim-Witness Assistance Services (V-WAS) for Great Falls and Cascade County for six years. She first joined the V-WAS organization in 1993 as a volunteer and later as a paid staff member. She became interested in crime victim issues because her brother was murdered in Lewis and Clark County in 1984.

Mikie’s dedication and hard work on behalf of crime victim issues have placed her in pivotal positions. She is the governor’s appointee to the Department of Corrections (DOC) Advisory Council and the Montana Board of Crime Control (MBCC); she serves on the DOC Crime Victim Advisory Council; and she is a presenter for the Great Falls Pre-release Victim Impact Homicide Survivor Panel.

Currently Mikie is a member of the Child Protection/Sexual Assault Team, Cascade County Family Violence Council, Sex Offender Management Team, and Sexual Assault Response Team.

She is married to MANG CMSGT Gary Hajek. They have two grown sons and are still waiting for grandkids.
