Rick Kirn

    Rick is a Sioux Indian from the Fort Peck Sioux and Assiniboine Tribes in Poplar, Montana. He graduated from high school in Okinawa, Japan, while his father was on military duty during the Vietnam War. Rick continued his education and earned a degree in civil technology from Dawson Community College.

    Rick has been self-employed as a land surveyor and farmer, and since 1999 he has been a Councilman for the Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux Tribal Council. He serves on the following committees for the Fort Peck Tribes: Economic Development; Land; Finance; Law and Justice; Legislative; and Minerals. In addition to his work on the committees, Rick also serves on the Northeast Montana Health Services Board and co-chairs the Montana Board of Crime Control.

    Rick and his wife Wanda have been married for 32 years. They have two children and five grandchildren.
