Nickolas Murnion

    Nickolas Murnion currently serves as the Valley County Attorney in Glasgow, Montana.  Prior to his appointment as Valley County Attorney in 2009 he served more than 30 years as the part–time county attorney for Garfield County, Montana.

    In 1975 Nick obtained an undergraduate degree in government from Montana State University; in 1978 he received a law degree from the University of Montana. Nick was past president of the Montana County Attorney’s Association and received the State Bar of Montana’s Local Professionalism award in 1996. The Profile of Courage Award was given to Nick by the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston, MA, in 1998. He received the Courageous Advocacy Award from the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2000.

    Nick is a member of the Montana Bar Association, American Bar Association, National District Attorney’s Association and the Montana County Attorney’s Association. Nick has spoken before the House Subcommittee on Crime regarding “The Nature and Threat of Violent Anti-Government Groups in America.” He has also spoken at various law enforcement seminars concerning extremists.

    Nickolas is married with two children and currently resides in Fort Peck, Montana.
