Rick Kirn

Rick is a Sioux Indian from the Fort Peck Sioux and Assiniboine Tribes in Poplar, Montana.  He graduated from high school in Okinawa, Japan, while his father was on military duty during the Vietnam War.  Rick continued his education and earned a degree in civil technology from Dawson Community College.

Rick has been self-employed as a land surveyor and farmer.  He serves as a governor’s appointee on the Montana Reserve Water Rights Compact Commission and is the Chairman of the New Life Mission of Poplar.  In addition, Rick also serves on the Northeast Montana Health Services Board and vice-chairs the Montana Board of Crime Control.

Rick and his wife Wanda have been married for 38 years.  They have two children and eight grandchildren.  He enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, shooting pool and playing golf with his wife.
